Shipping
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes we ship worldwide! Unfortunately we are unable to ship to Portugal. For delivery options, please see our shipping and returns page here.
When will my order be shipped?
All our jewellery is handmade in Brighton. Shipping times are approximate and will be from the date of dispatch, not the date of order. Please see product pages for processing time. Please note we do not ship on weekends or bank holidays.
If you need the piece sooner than the time listed on the product page, please contact us via our form here or email us at info@ratbetty.com prior to placing your order.
If your order includes both made-to-order pieces (with a 4-week turnaround) and quick-turnaround items (3-5 working days), we will ship your entire order together when the made-to-order pieces are ready.
If you prefer to receive the quick-turnaround items separately, please email us at info@ratbetty.com.
For customers outside the UK, please note that additional shipping charges may apply for separate shipments, depending on the items ordered.
How will my order be packaged?
All orders come packaged in a Fairtrade cotton pouch within a recyclable branded Rat Betty black jewellery box. We also include a care card!
We have the option to purchase gift wrapping for those who aren't big fans of wrapping or would like to send directly to someone.
Can my order by gift wrapped?
Please note all orders come as standard in our Fairtrade cotton pouch, in a recyclable jewellery box with a care card, wrapped in recyclable tissue.
If you'd like to go the extra mile for someone then additional gift wrapping can be purchased here. This gift wrapping includes the Fairtrade cotton pouch, recyclable jewellery box & care card, and this is packaged inside of a larger recyclable jewellery box with recyclable tissue paper, all wrapped in recyclable ribbon.
Can I add a personalised note?

Returns & Exchanges
Do you offer returns / exchanges?
We’re extending our returns & exchanges period for orders placed in November and December, so you will have until 31st January to return/exchange your order.
Merchandise must not be worn or damaged. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Customers are responsible for the shipping of all returns and exchanges. We will ship the exchanged item back to you. For your security, we recommend shipping your package with a carrier that can provide you with a tracking number. Please note that Rat Betty is not responsible for items damaged or lost in transit.
Please be sure of your size when exchanging as there will be a cost involved for a second exchange.
Orders placed prior to November will have 60 days from the package being delivered to return/exchange your order.
How do I return or exchange my piece?
We’re extending our returns & exchanges period for orders placed in November and December, so you will have until 31st January to return/exchange your order.
Please email info@ratbetty.com with “Return” or “Exchange” and your order number in the subject line. You will receive an email with information on next steps.
The returned package must include: a note containing the order number, and the item being returned. We will send you an email as soon as we receive your package.
Please be sure of your size when exchanging as there will be a cost involved for a second exchange.
Can I cancel my order?
All orders can be cancelled before we've shipped your package.
Once we've shipped your package, you'll still be entitled to a full refund if you send the package back to us in original condition, details above.
If you're based outside the UK and refuse a delivery from our couriers, they will either destroy it or send it back to us. If the shipment is destroyed your order will not be eligible for a refund. If the shipment is returned undamaged, the order will be eligible for a refund after deducting the cost of shipping and taxes & duties (if applicable).
Jewellery Care
How can I clean my jewellery?
We recommend ordering a silver polishing cloth to bring the silver back to a high shine.
If your piece needs more of a thorough clean we recommend gently cleaning your piece with warm soapy water (dish soap) and an old cloth.
How should I care for my pearl piece?
Pearls are soft and gentle. They will be easily scratched / chipped by other jewellery and any hard surfaces, tuck them in somewhere safe and soft at bed time and take great care when wearing them.

Resizing & Repairs
How can I get my ring resized?
If it has been more than 60 days since you received your piece or you have already exchanged once, then there will be a cost for the work involved for the resize.
Please note, we can't guarantee we'll have gemstones or pearls due to how we source these. Once a stone or pearl is set within a ring, we cannot remove it or change it, as the ring has been made to measure.
The prices are as follows:.
- Sterling silver ring (without gemstones / pearls) £20
- Gemstones or Pearls £75
- Gold: POA

How can I get my Rat Betty piece repaired?
For repairs, please email info@ratbetty.com with your order number and a photo of your item. We will confirm any cost involved.
Ring Sizing
What is my ring size?
If you are able to, we recommend you visit a local jeweller to get measured. If you are unable to, we'd recommend you order a ring sizer with us or online.
The ring sizer comes with instructions. Shipping within the UK is free. We do not ship these internationally so if you are overseas please order a ring sizer online.
Sizing tips:
- The aim is for a snug fit, that is able to slip back over the knuckle. Fingers shrink and swell at different temperatures. Measure your fingers at room temperature for best results.
Requests
What if the piece is sold out?
If the piece you're after is sold out, please go to the product page, select the size you're after and add your email to be notified when it is back in stock.
What if I can't see my size?
If you can't see your size, then please let us know which piece and size you're after here.
Can I get something made in gold?
If you can't see the piece you're after on the gold collection then please let us know which piece you'd like a quote for and what size here.
Green Fingers
Why has my finger turned green?!?
All our jewellery is 100% solid sterling silver. We never use any types of platings or coatings. A handful of customers experience a green / blue marking, this can be due to a reaction between the jewellery and your skin, and/or remnants of the wax, plant-based polish we use to finish the rings leaving a mark! Discount
Can I use more than one discount code from multiple gift cards?
Only one discount code can be used per order, if you'd like to combine them, please email info@ratbetty.com with the codes you'd like to combine.
Currency Conversions
I am based outside the UK, can I order in my local currency?
You are able to order in your local currency, this should happen automatically. If you are using a private browser or VPN, you may need to manually pick your currency in the bottom left hand corner.
All orders on our site are charged in GBP. The bank that has issued your card determines the exact exchange rate that you will pay and any additional fees, typically it will match closely with the going exchange rates.
